Accounting Assistant - REIT Firm


There is an immediate opening located right in Boston for one of the most reputable Real Estate Investment Trusts in the area. There's unlimited potential for growth in this position as the previous assistant has moved into a senior associate role. The ideal candidate will be joining a department of 8 experienced accounting professionals so prior exposure with corporate accounting is needed to succeed. Reporting to the department Controller, you’ll be responsible for ad-hoc projects as well as daily/weekly tasks broken up across the department.

 

This position is responsible for:
- Assisting with the annual planning and budget process for properties
- Coordination of financial packages for Senior Management and Investors
- Reconciling and reviewing financial statements prepared by 3rd party accountants
- Preparing consolidated financial statements
- Ad-hoc analysis as assigned by the Fund Controller
 

Qualifications:
- Must be degreed in Accounting or Finance
- Have at least 1 year of progressive Real Estate accounting experience (internships count!)
- Working directly for a REIT, Commercial Management or Public Accounting firm is preferred
- Immediate Availability
