Our client, an established university located in Boston, is looking for a polished, professional HR Coordinator to join our staff for the winter months leading into spring.  This position is available as the current HR coordinator is going on maternity leave.  This role provides extensive support to the Associate Director of Administration for all HR activities and acts as the primary source of contact for 140 staff members and assists approximately 40 faculty members as directed.  As the HR Coordinator, you will respond to inquiries regarding university policies, procedures, and practices and provide support regarding employment, payroll, appointments, and other systems questions.  Interpersonal communication is crucial for success with a knack for multitasking.  This is an excellent opportunity to work for a prestigious university with potential for permanent opportunities for the right candidate.

• Face of the HR Department with fielding questions from both employees and students
• Coordinate the recruitment and hire process by posting positions, scheduling interviews, and preparing offer letters
• Manage employee database, payroll, and absence management systems
• Identify and escalate issues to Associate Director of Administration
• Assist with special projects and campus events
• Related office duties as assigned to ensure smooth office functioning

• 1-2 years’ experience working in Human Resources, preferably in higher education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Management
• Proven knowledge of full cycle recruiting methods
• Experience with employee payroll
• MS Office experience (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Ability to effectively communicate while maintaining a positive attitude
