Helpdesk Technician - University Setting

We are looking for a Helpdesk Technician to join a renowned university in Boston. This role will serve as the liaison between the Information Technology department and the university student population and staff. The Helpdesk Technician will support faculty and academic programs, specifically focusing on student needs, instructional technology, training's and workshops. The role will require a high level of independence as well as the ability to work within a team environment.



· Maintains classroom equipment to ensure rooms are in working order. Includes computers, microphones, projectors, doc cams, monitors, clickers, video conferencing, etc.

· Provide video conferencing connection support – Provide in-room connection assistance as needed.

· Respond to classroom technical emergencies received by the Help Desk

· Ability to troubleshoot and resolve classroom issues in a timely fashion

· Utilize incident ticketing system to create, update, document and close assigned Help Desk tickets in a timely fashion

· Installation and updates of computer software and hardware in the classrooms

· Requires the ability to be physically in attendance at designated worksite during schedule work hours



· At least 1 year of experience related to delivering computing, information and instructional technology support

· Any prior experience in a classroom or higher education is preferred

· Advanced knowledge of application software and hardware

· Proven ability to train and coach non-technical users
