Mental Health Worker – multiple shifts available 

 

Our client, a mental health recovery center located in Southeast Massachusetts has an opening and is looking for dynamic candidates who will provide direct patient care services to individuals by participating and instructing activities of daily living.  This includes personal care, community integration, and recreation to ensure daily needs.

 

If you have a passion for assistance and treatment for mental health individuals, please apply to this posting with your resume.   There is a day shift and an overnight shift vacant for great candidates who can treat all patients at the center with dignity and respect.   New hires will be joining a great team, orientation training will be provided.  Also proper PPE will be provided by the center for all employees.

 

Responsibilities Include:

 

- Treating all patients with dignity and respect through interactions which affirm the individual’s needs and preferences

- Advocate for patients, facilitate timely resolution of patient concerns and assist patients in the exercise of their rights

- Works with patients on an individual basis or in small groups through therapeutic interventions

- Establishes rapport with patients and other staff by developing a good, cooperative working relationship to aid in improved patient care

- Documents observations in patients’ records as directed in order to provide written follow through of verbal reports

- Light data entry and filing to help maintain accurate records in the center

 

Qualifications Include:

 

- Must have strong communications skills with the ability to follow written and/or oral instructions

- Must be able to perform basic math functions and write clearly and concisely

- Strong skills interacting with individuals who are under emotional stress while remaining calm

- Any previous experience working or volunteering with the homeless or other individuals with a history of mental health issues or substance abuse is preferred

- Bilingual speaking ability is a plus
